EDUC 121. Motivation and LearningThis seminar focuses on general developmental principles specific to understanding motivation and its relation to learning. Seminar foci include: (1) use of the literatures in cognitive, developmental, educational, and social psychology, the learning sciences, neuroscience to identify key indicators of motivation and learning; (2) preparation of a literature review on a topic of the student's choice related to motivation and learning; and (3) collaborative work on an evaluation research project addressing a "live" issue or problem identified by a stakeholder (e.g., teacher, school, or community organization). Honors candidates must take the seminar for two credits, course students may opt to take it as a 2- or a 1- credit seminar.
