ARTH 003. Asian Art: Past and PresentThis course provides a thematic introduction to the arts of India, China, Korea, and Japan from prehistoric times to the present. Through explorations of select works of calligraphy, painting, prints, ceramics, sculpture, and architecture, this course aims to familiarize students with artistic vocabularies and conventions, sociocultural contexts of production and consumption, and tools of art historical analysis. Particular focus will be given to the interrelationships between art, religion, philosophy, and literature. Note: This course is an Introductory Survey Course
