ANCH 011. First Year Seminar: Rome: The Archaeology of Empire


This first year seminar explores the physical development of Rome as it progresssed from a tiny village of shepherds to become the metropolis of the ancient Mediterranean. Through reading ancient sources and examining archaeological sites and monuments, we will investigate the relationships linking politics, religion, art, and architecture in the ancient world.
