CLST 028. Origins of Indic Thought(Cross-listed as PHIL 038 ) Origins of Indic Thought is designed to give students a foundation in various major philosophical schools that have emerged in the Indian subcontinent by studying their origin stories. These schools include Buddhism, Jainism, Sāṅkhya, Yoga, Nyāya-Vaiśeṣika, Vedānta, and Sikhism. Students will learn the fundamental arguments that each school makes and understand the ongoing conversation between the various schools about the nature of and relationship between the Self, the World, and God.
