ARTT 053. Sculpture II: Sculpture and the BodyThis course covers a broad range of contemporary sculptural concepts and techniques as they apply to the human figure. Using art as a facilitator, ideas, and questions relating to changes in daily "normal" life due to COVID -19 will be explored. The course will be broken into three sections, sculpture of the figure, sculpture on the figure, and sculpture around the figure. Taught entirely remotely, emphasis will be placed on the development of studio practices and building a remote community of makers. Students will receive some materials and tools from the instructor but are also encouraged to innovate and incorporate repurposed and everyday objects into their art. Finally, the class will explore different methods of presenting finished art including photography and video. Humanities. 1 credit.
