ENGL 005. Journalism WorkshopAn introduction to news gathering, news writing, and journalism ethics. Students learn the values, skills, and standards crucial to high-quality journalism. They write conventional news stories, narratives, profiles, non-deadline features, trend stories, and point-of-view articles on a beat of their choosing. Guest speakers include award-winning reporters and editors. This course counts as a general humanities credit and as a writing course, but does not count as a credit toward a major or minor in English literature. This course is open to first year students.
