HIST 111. Muslims, Christians, and Jews in the Medieval MediterraneanBeginning with common Roman traditions, the Mediterranean during the Middle Ages became divided into three great civilizations: Byzantium, Islam, and Western Christendom. The course will examine the interchange and friction among these three cultures as the sea passed from Islamic to Christian control from the seventh to the 14th century. Social sciences. 2 credits.
