ANTH 034F. Native American Tribes of the Eastern United States


This course is an introductory survey of Native Americans of the eastern United States in Pennsylvania and beyond. Students will gain an understanding of eastern Native Americans and their history, culture, language, spirituality, contemporary life, and current social issues through a study of anthropology, archaeology, ethnohistory, oral history, Traditional Ecological Knowledge, politics, activism, U.S. federal Indian policies, the arts, sports, education and other topics.
