STAT 071. Topics in Probability This is an advanced course in the mathematics of probability theory focusing on results and techniques beyond the scope of stat 51. The course will involve neither data nor real analysis. Exact subject matter may slightly change based on student background and interest, but topics may include martingales, random walks, concentration inequalities, stochastic processes, Markov chains, random sums, random finite structures, and central limit theorems. Prerequisite: A grade of C or better in STAT 051 ; or permission of the instructor. Natural science and engineering. 1 credit. Spring 2025. Devlin.
