ENVS 067. Introduction to Environmental Engineering (Cross-listed as ENGR 067)
This course introduces students to problems and solution approaches in environmental engineering. The course includes critical analysis of problems from both engineering and science perspectives through case studies in air, water, energy, climate and waste resources. In this course, students will be introduced to problem solving and research methods including spreadsheets, technical writing, and use of scientific instrumentation. The course meets weekly for 2 hours of lecture and 3 hours of lab, and integrates lecture, discussion, problem solving, student projects, and hands-on laboratories involving computation, air and water quality sampling, electricity, and outdoor field activities.
