This course covers the fundamentals of elementary number theory, including divisibility, congruences, and prime numbers. Topics may include Gaussian integers, sums of squares representations, and quadratic reciprocity. Alternate years. Prerequisite: A grade of C or better in one of MATH 027 or MATH 028.
