PSYC 131. Seminar in Cognitive Neuroscience

This course is an in-depth examination of the neuroscience of human memory. By reading and discussing primary research articles, we will study current issues and theories as they relate to neural, cognitive, and computational explanations of human memory behavior. In the first part of the course, we will examine the anatomy of memory and basic memory phenomena. We will then learn about current theories and debates in the field of human memory.  In the final part of the course, we will learn about how technological advances (like artificial intelligence) are influencing memory research, and what they mean for the future of our understanding of memory.
