DANC 049H. Repertory/Ensemble: Movement Theater Workshop

(Cross-listed as THEA 008)
This course will invite students to explore tools and strategies that activate and engage the body as source and resource for creating and exploring meaning, connection, and artistic expression. Uses movement (pedestrian, gestural, cultural/habitual, and codified), text (spoken/written), imagery and theater tools, along with healing centered practices, students will investigate how sensing and noticing can be a pathway to empower the imagination and expression of the body. Class explorations, experiments, and performances, will invite students to deepen their awareness of the body and movement as essential parts of both the creative and performance process.
Prerequisite: THEA 002A, any dance course 040 to 044, or consent of the instructor.
