ENGR 014. Experimentation for Engineering Design


This course provides a broad introduction to the concepts, methods, and tools used to extract insight from data encountered in business and engineering. Students learn the full analytics workflow, including data collection, cleaning, transformation, exploratory analysis, and basic modeling. Topics include descriptive statistics, data visualization, data cleaning and an introduction to predictive analytics techniques such as regression and classification. Hands-on labs use real-world datasets and MATLAB software to develop practical skills.
Prerequisite: MATH 025  or equivalent or permission of the instructor.
Natural sciences and engineering practicum.
Lab required.
1 credit.
