ENVS 091. Capstone Seminar

The culminating experience of the environmental studies major is the capstone seminar course. Under the direction of a faculty member, students with a variety of backgrounds come together to participate in the Environmental Studies Colloquium Series, a multidisciplinary lecture series exploring pressing environmental topics. The class members jointly prepare for and host the colloquium speakers for closed discussion in the capstone seminar, attend the public lunchbag talks, and respond to the lectures individually and in group conversation. Additional capstone experiences include site visits, peer-led research topics, and a practicum component. Recent speakers and lecture topics include land recuperation and climate change, food justice, contemporary environmental art, and Indigenous land rights and cultural sovereignty.
