HIST 007B. Black Atlantic History II


This introductory course centers the lived experiences of Black people in the U.S. and the wider Americas during the period between the nineteenth and twentieth centuries.  We will be covering people of African descents’ pivotal social justice movements, freedom struggles, and cultural movements in the U.S. and beyond, inclusive of their experiences of mass migrations within the U.S. and to the U.S. from the Caribbean and South America, Africa, and to a lesser extent, Europe.  
Recommended for teacher certification. Concentrations: Culture and Identity, Domination and Resistance
Social sciences.
1 credit.
