POLS 050A. Peacebuilding How can we silence the guns of political violence and civil wars? Perhaps more importantly, can the international community hep conflict afflicted societies build durable peace in the aftermath of conflict? In this course we will wade into these critical questions through studying theories and empirical analysis of conflict mediation and termination, peacekeeping, and trust-building in fractured societies. We will put theory into practice and apply peacebuilding solutions to think about some of the most pressing contemporary conflicts within the international system. Social Science. 1 credit.
