PSYC 031. Cognitive Neuroscience This course provides an introduction to cognitive neuroscience–the study of how the brain enables the mind. We will begin with an overview of the neural substrates of cognition and the tools for understanding the structure and function of the human brain. We will then cover neural processes that support functions such as sensory perception and attention, memory, motor control, language, executive control, and emotional and social functioning. We will also discuss how the neural bases of cognition change over time and how they are affected by various diseases and disorders. Prerequisite: PSYC 001 Social Sciences. 1 credit.
