SOCI 135. Social Movements and Nonviolent Power

In this two-credit Honors seminar, we will study the global proliferation of the strategic use of nonviolent tactics and methods and investigate the power in social relations upon which collective nonviolent action capitalizes. We will also address sociological literature on the emergence, maintenance, and impact of social movements.
