CLST 016. Late Bronze Age Collapse And Aftermath The Late Bronze Age (1700-1200 BCE) represents the high point of Mediterranean prehistory. Great kingdoms and peoples, from Egypt to Mesopotamia to Greece, rose, flourished, and contributed to a complex international system. In short order, however, this vibrant world came under considerable and fatal strain, leading ultimately to its collapse. Through examination of textual and archaeological evidence, this first-year seminar introduces students to the Bronze Age, evaluates its violent end, and considers the aftermath that followed it. Humanities. 1 credit. Spring 2026. Czujko. Catalog chapter: Classics Department website: http://www.swarthmore.edu/classics
