HIST 021A. Queering Britain: History, Film, Art and Literature from the Roman Conquest to the Brexit Era How can the history of queer Britain change how we think about British history - the litany of invasions and conquests, the powerful queens, the rebellious parliaments, the rising and falling company states? In answering this question, this course locates British queer history and the larger project of queering history in a field of contested cultural memory that also encompasses literature, film, and television.
