BLST 067B. James Baldwin’s B-sides Cross-listed with ENGL 067B H4. “James Baldwin’s B-sides” Whereas ENGL 67 (“James Baldwin’s Civil Rights”) focuses closely on the legendary Black author’s major work of the 1960s, this complementary course explores Baldwin’s other work-fiction, drama, essays (both collected and uncollected), interviews, conversations, and films.This reading-intensive course will continue to examine some key themes in Baldwin’s work: Blackness, race, gender, sexuality, and history.
