ECON 145. Labor Economics The course covers core topics in the field of labor economics as well as empirical methods for applied microeconomic analysis. Together we’ll examine the theory and empirical realities underlying topics such as human capital accumulation, labor supply, migration, wages, inequality, discrimination, worker power, and non-traditional (e.g. informal and criminal) labor markets. Prerequisite: ECON 011 and ECON 031 (or its equivalent), and single-variable calculus (MATH 015 or higher). Social Science. 2 credits. Fall 2027 Rackstraw.
