BIOL 112. Cell Biology of Neurodegeneration

Throughout this seminar, we will discuss key cell processes associated with neurodegenerative diseases. We will discuss common cell defects observed during neurodegeneration in detail, starting from initial molecular descriptions through modern findings. We will spotlight a range of diseases including Alzheimers Disease, Parkinson’s Disease, ALS, and Huntington’s Disease. Each week, we will consider primary literature, and students will leave the class with a better understanding of how to read and understand scientific papers.
