PHYS 070. Classical Mechanics

Junior-level treatment of classical mechanics, including Newton’s laws, projectiles, momentum and angular momentum, fixed-axis rotational motion, energy, oscillations, calculus of variations, Lagrange’s equations, coupled oscillators, and normal modes. Uses multivariable calculus, linear algebra, and differential equations (differential equations taught as part of course) to describe these physical phenomena.
