BLST 090G. Black Liberation 1969: Black Studies in History Theory and Praxis This research seminar on the civil rights movement and student activism will investigate the history of the black student movement on college campuses in America circa 1968-1972 with an emphasis on unearthing the story of Swarthmore’s own black student protest in 1969. Students will write the first accurate history of the black protest as well as develop a creative project designed to educate the campus and broader community about these events.
