CLST 015. First-Year Seminar: Dante With Virgil, Beatrice, and Dante-poet as guides, we shall follow the Pilgrim on a journey of despair, hope, and redemption. We shall read the Divine Comedy in its entirety, teasing out the poem’s different levels of meaning and reconstructing Dante’s world view in the context of Medieval culture: his thought on life, death, love, art, politics, history and God.
