ENGR 061. Geotechnical Engineering: Theory and DesignSoil and rock mechanics are explored, including soil and rock formation, soil mineralogy, soil types, compaction, soil hydraulics, consolidation, stresses in soil masses, slope stability, and bearing capacity as well as their application to engineering design problems. Offered in the fall semester of alternate years. Prerequisite: Grade of B or better in ENGR 006 or permission of the instructor. Natural sciences and engineering practicum. Lab included. 1 credit.
