PHIL 135. Topics in Indian Philosophy


This seminar covers the central debates in Indian Philosophy spanning from the beginning of the Common Era up until the 12th century. Topics include the following: the sources of knowledge, skepticism about philosophy, the nature of persons and consciousness, the existence of God, the meaning of words and sentences, and moral motivation.
This seminar is intended for Seniors and Juniors, with priority given to honors students taking it as an honors preparation.  Others should contact the instructor for permission to enroll.
