ENVS 008. Plants and Human Culture.This course is a survey of interrelationships between plants and human cultures. Different cultural lenses, such as socio-economic status, cultural heritage, and residential environment (urban vs. rural) will be used to explore landscapes. Issues, such as invasive species, water management and societal benefits of gardens provide opportunities for exploration, discussion and problem solving. Students will complete a semester-long observation project and work in groups to discover more about gardens of different cultures. 1.0 credit. Eligible for ESCH Fall 2022. Barton. Fall 2023. Barton.
