THEA 004C. Costume Design for Queer and Transgender Actors & Characters


In this course, we will look at the history of queer and transgender fashion.  We will discuss plays and design costumes from this perspective, while simultaneously learning about the Costume Designer's responsibilities as an artist, researcher and collaborator.  The lab component of this course will be taught remote and introduce students to the relationship between the Designer and the Costume Shop/ Wardrobe Management. We'll look at how our designs are  implemented and what is required in the process for completing a collection for stage, including hair and make-up.No previous experience with theater, sewing or design required. 
Fulfills a general requirement for all theater majors and minors.
