A half-semester survey of mathematical techniques useful in physics. Topics include eigenvalue problems, Fourier analysis, solutions to ordinary and partial differential equations, special functions, the theory of residues, and numerical methods. Prerequisite: linear algebra (MATH 027, MATH 028, or MATH 028S); corequisite: multivariable calculus (MATH 033, MATH 034, or MATH 035). Includes a weekly numerical laboratory. 0.5 credit. First half of the semester. Spring 2015. Brown. http://www.swarthmore.edu/physics-astronomy Physics and Astronomy
