CHIN 090. Practicum in Bridging Swarthmore and Local Chinese Communities Students will engage in directed projects in local Chinese communities under the supervision of the instructor. The projects will concern tutoring and translation or other social services within the immigrant groups. Fieldwork will be tied to theoretical and applied academic learning and will foster intercultural understanding and intellectual growth. A final written project will be required for credit. Speakers of any Chinese language/dialects are particularly welcome, as are students of Chinese language and others who wish to develop their interest in this area. Credit is awarded CR/NC. 1 credit.
