DANC 049D. Performance Dance: Repertory Section 1: Modern The various sections of this course offer opportunities for study of repertory and performance practice. Students are required to perform in at least one scheduled dance concert during the semester. Three hours per week. A course in dance technique should be taken concurrently. This repertory class will explore the physicality and psychology of performing movement. Movement sources will range form modern dance to hip-hop to contact improvisation. Students need not specialize in any one type of dance to take this course, though it is recommended for intermediate/advanced dancers. Students will be expected to attend additional ensemble rehearsals. A technique class should be taken concurrently, and Modern III is highly recommended. 0.5 credit or P.E. credit. Spring 2015.
