ENGR 072. Electronic Circuit Applications The student will learn the fundamentals of practical electronic circuit design and construction for purposes of instrumentation and control. This includes diode applications, op-amps for amplification and filtering of electronic signals, and power MOSFET transistors as switching devices for actuators such as motors. Mixed signal devices (A/D and D/A converters) are introduced and used throughout the course. Students learn to program microcontrollers, including on-chip peripherals and the processing of interrupts. Throughout the course, practical considerations of circuit design and construction are covered. ENGR 012 is a prerequisite; may be waived at the discretion of the instructor. ENGR 015 is a corequisite; may be waived at the discretion of the instructor. Natural sciences and engineering practicum. This course includes a laboratory. 1 credit.
