PHIL 121. Social and Political Philosophy The focus of this seminar is justice: what makes a society or a state just and how to we deal with issues of oppression and injustice? We begin with historical conceptions of political power and examine critiques of these traditions. We then turn to current questions about the nature of justice from the liberal, libertarian, neo-Marxist, and feminist traditions. We end the course with a discussion of current issues of social justice. 2 credits. Fall 2014. Thomason. http://www.swarthmore.edu/philosophy Philosophy
