ENGR 035. Solar Energy Systems Fundamental physical concepts and system design techniques of solar energy systems are covered. Topics include solar geometry, components of solar radiation, analysis of thermal and photovoltaic solar collectors, energy storage, computer simulation of system performance, computer-aided design optimization, and economic feasibility assessment. This course includes a laboratory. Offered in the fall semester of alternate years. Prerequisite: PHYS 004 , MATH 015 , or the equivalent or the permission of the instructor.
