PHIL 012.01. Logic An introduction to the principles of deductive logic with equal emphasis on the syntactic and semantic aspects of logical systems. The place of logic in different areas of philosophy, including metaphysics, epistemology, and ethics, will also be examined. Recommended for students with a strong mathematics or computer science background, and for non-freshmen who have taken no prior philosophy courses. Prerequisite: No Prerequisite.
