BIOL 141. Genome Regulation Research This advanced research course will explore mechanisms including gene expression, nuclear structure and epigenetic regulation, with a focus on the regulatory roles of noncoding RNAs. Students will work in small groups to develop and test their own hypothesis-driven research questions in the laboratory, which will be supplemented with relevant primary literature discussion. Students will gain hands-on experience with analysis of large genomic datasets. No previous independent research or coding experience is required.
This course may be offered in conjunction with BIOL 111 . Students may choose to take one or both courses concurrently.
Prerequisite: BIOL 010 , any Group I Intermediate Course, or BIOL 024 , or BIOL 025 with permission of the instructor. Natural Sciences and Engineering. 1 Credit.
