HIST 001A. First-Year Seminar: History and the Digital Turn: Slavery and Resistance This freshman seminar focuses on vibrant new developments at the intersections of the digital humanities and the study of slavery. Students will encounter early histories of Black life in the era of slavery through a variety of digital humanities projects. They will grapple with debates in the history of slavery as they relate to the digital humanities and hone their analytical skills through critiques of digital humanities projects and by planning their own. Method/Theory. Concentrations: Domination and Resistance; Migration, Diaspora, and Space Social sciences. Writing course. 1 credit. Eligible for BLST, LALS. Method/Theory.
