POLS 116. International Political Economy (IR) The course studies the main historical and contemporary approaches in international political economy, and focuses on the primary contemporary issues in political-economic relations among states as well as between states and non-state actors. Topics include: domestic-international level interaction in the politics of international economic relations, economic globalization, the international financial and monetary systems, the international trading system, development and aid, economic crises, multinational corporations, interlinkages between economic and security relations, multilateral platforms to address international political economic issues, including relatively new forums such as the G20.
