ENGL 070F. Contemporary Poetry and Its Concerns

This workshop examines how contemporary poets explore present-day topics while navigating their own subjectivity, how their works are in conversation with cultural trends and currents, and how these socio-political themes intersect and overlap. Students will learn to honor their own contemporary obsessions and perspectives to create authentic and meaningful poems. Though this workshop is open to all levels, it is recommended for students who have some poetry-writing experience.
