MUSI 006D. Performing Resistance: Black Music and Protest in the African Diaspora This course explores African diasporic music as it’s been used in performative acts of resistance and protest in the United States, the Caribbean, and South America. We will consider instances when music and movement have been deployed in response to political, economic, and social tyranny in the past and in the present.
