BIOL 022. Neurobiology


A comprehensive study of the basic principles of neurobiology, ranging from the electrical and chemical signaling properties of neurons and their underlying cellular and molecular mechanisms to the functional organization of selected neural systems. Finally, the course will discuss how nervous system dysfunction can result in neurodevelopmental and neurodegenerative disease.
Prerequisite: BIOL 001  and CHEM 010 ; or with permission of instructor. 
Natural sciences and engineering practicum.
One laboratory period per week.
1 credit.
Eligible for COGS and Neuroscience Group A (Foundation course)
