Fluid mechanics is treated as a special case of continuum mechanics in the analysis of fluid flow systems. Conservation of mass, momentum, and energy are covered along with applications to the study of inviscid and viscous, incompressible, and compressible fluids. Prerequisite: ENGR 006, ENGR 012, ENGR 021, ENGR 059, MATH 033/MATH 034/MATH 035 with C- or better, and MATH 043/MATH 044 with C- or better; or permission of the instructor. Natural sciences and engineering practicum. Lab included. 1 credit. Catalog chapter: Engineering Department website: http://www.swarthmore.edu/engineering
