FREN 118. Séminaire - Littérature et sciences cognitives

Reading prose or poetry has powerful effects on how the human brain functions. Through authors such as Charles Baudelaire, Arthur Rimbaud, Marcel Proust, and Nathalie Sarraute, we will study modernist poetics to appreciate materially the healing and emancipatory potential of literature, notably with regard to issues of trauma, identity formation, and embodiment.
