PEAC 005. FYS: Transnational Advocacy Movements This first year seminar will explore the activities of transnational advocacy networks. Students will consider questions including, why do transnational activists decide to push for solutions to some problems and not others? What kinds of tactics do transnational advocates use to push for their demands? How do advocates link up across spaces, both horizontally (i.e. between different locales) and vertically (i.e. between “local” and “global” settings)? When and how do transnational advocacy campaigns make a difference in people’s lives? 1 credit.
