GMST 008. Texts in Context: Topics in German Culture and Society from the Reformation until Today


GMST 008 is a 4th semester course integrating the continued work on advancing the students’ linguistic skills with the acquisition of cultural, historical, and literary content about German-speaking countries. This course is the gateway to all upper level courses in the German studies curriculum. Topics alternate every year.

Topic for Spring 2018: Sex Gender and Migration in German Speaking Literature

Topic for Spring 2019: Streifzüge durch die deutschsprachige Literatur von der Romantik bis zur Gegenwart.
Prerequisite: GMST 003  or equivalent Placement Score
