HIST 057. History v. Hollywood

A history course focused on analyzing the narrative of American History as imagined and created by Hollywood cinematographers. Students will view Hollywood films, classics and contemporary features, as well as work by black and other independent film makers. Assigned readings will address themes of nationality, race, labor, gender, and political activism. Attendance at film screening is required.
This course is not open to first year students.
